-FRACTURA-
The mimetic representation of nature (still life) has historically served as an artistic motif, a window towards truth and reality that, when captured, becomes representative of a certain time-space, style, character, etc.
At a time when the configuration of our habits, customs and ways of understanding ourselves within a society have crashed against a wall, "Fractura" proposes a look back, a nostalgic look -characteristic of still life’s- towards nature, transience and mortality.
This series represents, in a subtle and at the same time graphic and direct way, the structural failure that underlies the understanding of reality, the clinging to beauty, youth and the perpetual values of an increasingly unsustainable reality.
A trompe l'oeil of nature with glitch; These flowers contain something poetic when they tell us that the world is falling apart: climate change, health catastrophes, political disasters; the moment of awareness and recognition of the lifelessness of an object and its decline.
